Achieving national accreditation is a significant accomplishment, and we are here to support you every step of the way. This roadmap breaks down the journey into five manageable steps, from your initial membership to maintaining your hard-earned status. Your regional facilitator will be your guide, initiating financial sponsorship from the Hub at each stage so you can focus on what matters most—enhancing your program’s quality.
Before you can begin the NAFCC accreditation journey and receive financial sponsorship, you must be an active member of your free, regional Staffed Family Child Care Network. Membership connects you with your dedicated coach who will guide you through this entire process.
Your journey begins by joining the national professional association for family child care providers. As an active SFCCN member, your regional coach will initiate the sponsorship process so the NAFCC membership fee is fully covered for you.
Once you're an NAFCC member, your coach will sponsor your Self-Study Kit. This kit contains all the materials you'll need to review your program's practices and prepare for accreditation. This phase requires a significant investment of time, with a minimum of six months of engagement to ensure you are ready for the next step
After completing the self-study period, you're ready to officially apply for accreditation. Your coach will once again initiate sponsorship for the Accreditation Application fee, marking a major step toward achieving national recognition for your program.
The final stage of the application process is a visit from an NAFCC observer who will see your high-quality program in action. Your Regional Network provides crucial support and preparation assistance to help you feel confident and ready for this visit and the final accreditation decision.
Accreditation is an ongoing commitment to quality. To keep your nationally-recognized status active, your network will initiate sponsorship for the 18-Month Update Fee, ensuring you continue to be recognized for your professional excellence.
Let us know you're interested, and we'll connect you with your regional facilitator. They will guide you through the NAFCC membership process and answer all your questions. All NAFCC fees are sponsored by the Hub for eligible members.
